Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto will team up on the big screen for the first time in the upcoming film “The Greatest Showdown.”
Star Cinema officially unveiled the pair’s first-ever film project together during a special mall event in Quezon City on July 5, where the two stars formally introduced the collaboration to fans.
The announcement followed speculation fueled by Vice and Vic’s surprise greetings on their respective noontime shows, “It’s Showtime” and “Eat Bulaga,” before later teasing fans by hinting that they would finally meet in Cubao.
While plot details and the rest of the cast have yet to be revealed, “The Greatest Showdown” is already shaping up to be one of the year’s most anticipated Filipino films and a long-awaited crossover between two of Philippine entertainment’s biggest comedy icons.
The film will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jun Robles Lana, known for films such as “Die Beautiful,” “Big Night!,” “Becky and Badette,” “And the Breadwinner Is…,” and “Call Me Mother.”
“The Greatest Showdown” is slated to premiere exclusively in cinemas later this year.
